Janet Jackson - When I Think Of You (1986)

August 9, 1986 - 35 Years Ago Today: Janet Jackson had the Hot Shot Debut at No. 60 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with her single, "When I Think Of You." This Jimmy Jam Harris-Terry Lewis-Janet Jackson-penned song was the third single release from her third studio and breakthrough No. 1 album, "Control," and it went all the way to No. 1 for two weeks beginning October 11, 1986 and was certified Gold. The quintuple-Platinum certified album released six singles including five Top 5's and the final single, "The Pleasure Principle" which peaked at No. 14. Michael's kid sister was entering superstar territory which was cemented with her follow-up album, 1989's "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814," which was only the third album in history to deliver 7 Top Ten singles (7 Top 5's to be exact) following older brother, Michael's "Thriller," and Bruce Springsteen's "Born In The U.S.A." Janet Jackson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. Please click the following link to view the accompanying video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaleKN9GQ54
